- SGHS MESA had competed at CSULA MESA's prelims on March 5 on a variety of events. These events include: EggXpress, Prostetic Arm, Speak Out, Balsawood Glider, Model Heart, Civil Structure, Mousetrap Car, and Math Competitions. The event started at 7:15 and lasted until 4:00. The contestants from all schools were welcomed to CSULA and introduced to thier tour guides where they would be lead to the gymnasium and head to their projects' center to drop off their projects. After checking in their project, contestants would head back to the gym to have a welcoming ceremony and then be sent to rooms around CSULA to take a math test. After the math test, contestants were able to check their projects and compete in them or head on to sponge activities if they had free time. Lunch was served at 12:15 and at 2:30 the awards ceremony was announced at the gym. Over all, SGHS took home 63 medals while some teams are still moving on to compete in regionals next month. We've yet to see how many medals our regionalist will bring back, and how many more medals students at SGHS will bring back next year. Until then, KEEP ON GOING SGHS MESA!
